Cass Tech 1985 Foundation was created by several members of the graduating class of 1985 from Cass Technical High School who desire to provide alumni outreach programming and financial support to the high school.
Cass Technical High School is one of Detroit, Michigan’s premier public high schools. Its longstanding tradition of leadership, service, and excellence to the Detroit Area is an unparalled phenomenon in Detroit's 300 year history. However, due to budget constraints affecting the quality of public school education, opportunities for students to participate in non-sports related team oriented competitions or performances have been curtailed or eliminated in their entirety. Further, additional efforts are needed to ensure the students are adequately prepared for the transition to college, trade school, or gainful employment. The Cass Tech 1985 Foundation seeks to supplement the efforts of the Cass Tech educational leadership in assisting students in the transition to post-secondary opportunities.
To fulfill its mission, the Cass Tech 1985 Foundation will provide the following activities:
-
Interviewing Skills Workshops
-
Avoiding Credit Card Debt Workshops
-
First Generation College Student Programs
-
Grant Awards Program
Our goal is to give students additional skills to be successful in their future endeavors. As we seek to improve access to new opportunities for generations of Cass Tech students, we remind them of the traditions that have been lain before them:
- Leadership
- Service
- Excellence
It is our intention to honor the traditions of the past, while connecting new students to bright futures.
